I was about to throw away my pressure cooker because the seal or gasket was worn, and I bought some other brand names aftermarket, and they were made very flimsy and leaked the first time I tried them, thank goodness Seneca trading had the real gasket or seal from the Presto company and their gasket or seal was much better rubber and thicker and it worked from the very first time that I used it. thank you!

I have not tried it yet. Had to use a knife to open the package. But that probably is good, else the plug would have gotten lost during shipping. Tried to put it in sideways but it would not fit that way. If you don't have water in the bottom of the cooker it will melt and make a mess when turned on high. I will let you know in a couple of months when I fire it up. seems to look ok! Probably will work.

This Pressure Cooker Seal Replacement kit is an exact fit for my particular model of Presto Pressure Cooker. It also comes with a replacement over pressure plug seal. Presto sealing rings and pressure plugs are easy to replace, fit well, and work. The only issue I have with the sealing rings is their short life expectancy. We use our pressure cooker several times a week. We really like the convenience, flavor, and time savings of pressure cooking; however, the sealing ring wears out and needs to be replaced annually. Doing the math, over a ten year time period, the total cost of sealing rings and pressure plugs quickly approaches $100. Something to consider when shopping for a pressure cooker.
