They are well constructed and sound pretty good. Probably would go better in a smaller room, but for my purposes they are great. Voices are clear when listening to movies or announcers during sports. Woofer is not overly powerful so don't expect huge bass out of this system but it seems to do the job. I am running these through a Denon AVR-S710W receiver. I bought these from Polk Audio as factory refurbished but they look new with no scratches or other blemishes. I have no complaints about these speakers.

Matched this with a Denon AVR-3310 receiver, and find the sound quality great for a TV in the master bedroom. Wife was concerned this would be too loud, but sound quality is great. Speakers are unobtrusive and look great. No worries with the remanufactured product, looked like brand new. Can't beat the value for the price. Would be a great addition to a dorm room, or to an apartment TV set up. Like other reviews, the bass is not particularly loud, but works great for the family set up. I have other more expensive and larger Polk speakers, and these are great.

At the price I paid for factory refurbished direct from Polk, I would say this system is a versatile bargain. As a pro musician and former hi-fi consultant, this 5.1 system with an appropriate AV receiver can be the core of an excellent small to medium room system. If you are looking for thundering bass for action films, there are better options but for total system smoothness and non-fatiguing clarity for both movies and listening to complex music at moderate volume I doubt you could do better.
