The SX-205 is not much to look at but it has a nice rich full sound that is hard to match for the money. It has the fidelity to use with small speakers in low volume settings or hook up some 5-way behemoths and turn it up for big deep sound. The Super Bass button works like a Loudness button and bumps up the bass considerably at normal listening levels. My only complaint is that the A and B speakers can not be run simultaneously, but a Niles or Adcom speaker selector solves that problem easily. I have 4 smaller Klipsch 2-way speakers and a big 12" Boston Acoustics powered subwoofer hooked up to mine and the sound quality is phenomenal. Great sound quality and bargain basement price make the SX-205 receiver a Best Bang for the Buck!

I like this receiver, for those of us that still need a simple, two-channel center brain for a stack-stereo system. This one replaces an identical one I've had for 6-7 years, that was destroyed by a power surge when a tree hit our house and electric wires! The earlier one never missed a beat, but the orange display did get dimmer over the years (it was on contanas the house system) - I noticed, compared to the new one. Anyway, when it came time to replace it, I didn't feel the need to change!
