Great unit, lots of features, no useless frills.
I decided to stick with Pioneer because not only do they make great stereos but it matched the features of the one I had that was stolen and so I was able to use my XM Tuner (gex-etc etc) which works great with it. The USB feature is nice, I bought a 16 GB flash card and put a good amount of my music on it so it's in the car all the time, nice! You should group the music in folders so you can move around easily, the menu is limited for that. Tuner etc all work great, flawless CD operation. Very tunable, I have a subwoofer in the back with it's own amp and it was easy to match the levels and also the high pass filter is nice as the other speakers don't get muddy with the low all coming from the woofer (it's in a porsche 944 so it's all in the cabin.) Very happy with this stereo! Cons: I don't like the control, it's a combo joystick/turning knob and it's a pain in the butt. The way it works with the menu system in the unit is you can scroll up and down by either pushing up and down on the knob (joystick mode) or turn the knob, or both. Left and right enters and exits the menu. My other big beef is the preset control. You push a button to choose preset, then you have to scroll through with the joystick/knob and press it to choose, and it won't start where you are it always starts at the first (of 6) so you can't just go up one preset or back one. Takes some getting used to. With the XM you get three bands so there are 18 total presets, FM you get 2 so 12 total, and AM you get 1 band so 6 presets. All in all I would buy this again or a higher end Pioneer. If I had the money I would have got the one I had before with cool graphics etc but this unit is nice, has great sound, tunes perfectly even AM, CD perfect over bumps. I would recommend it to anyone.Read full review
