Great value for the Dollar! A better product from Phillips!
Pros: Sleek-looking, well-designed, light weight with extra feature (plays all DVD formats and DivX files), battery performance, dual phone jacks, portability, remote. Cons: Small screen, tad noisy loading, so-so speakers, no resume function after player is back on. Overall: a great functional pocket DVD player somewhat affordable and beautifully designed. Can be taken on the road or on a plane with a latched battery lasting several hours, also can be connected to a TV and can connect composite signals as an output recipient as a small video monitor. Cannot vouch for reliability or durability as I just got it a week ago...

Fst delivery, as promissed
I will buy from these folks again. Here are the troubles: I got a Philips PET247 portable DVD player, and it worked for 18 months. Problems: as you start watching video, the DVD shuts down itself. Philips told me, there is nothing they can do. Then I found one, I though exactly as mine. Broken screen, working. I received it, tested it on an external TV, it worked. They were both manufactured in October 2007. My big disappointment was when I took off the back lids and realized that the main boards are different. One has 1 connection to the screen, the other has 2. So I had to take apart the two lids and only switch the LED screen. I did it, but at the end, it came out, there are more differences: The fluorescent light bulbs had different connections. I had to cut some wire from the broken screen fluorescent tube, and re-solder it to fit the new connection. Finally, it started working. This is just a warning, if you decide to do what I did, and if you are ready for all the surprises inside the box. Read full review

DVD Player -- good purchase
I puschased this for my 11 year old granddaughter. Because it was used; i did try it before giving it to her and it worked extremely well. She was excited to get it and used it while visiting us as well as on her long trip home and many times since she has been home. It was just the ticket. While i knew thta it did not come with a car adapter...i was disappointed that the universal car adapter for dvd players we had would not work. But that was a minor thing

A CLEAN, NOT TOO EXPENSIVE MACHINE WITH A MEAN SCREEN
I WAS LOOKING FOR A NICE GIFT FOR MY LADY FRIEND AND THIS DVD PLAYER CAUGHT MY EYE. I LIKED THE LOOKS OF IT BUT TO KEEP IT THAT WAY YOU HAVE TO BE REALLY CAREFUL WITH IT CAUSE IT DOES AND WILL SCUFF UP EASY. THE THING I LIKED MOST ABOUT IT WAS THE SCREEN. THE PICTURE LOOKS AS GOOD ON THIS SCREEN AS IT DOES ON ONE ALOT MORE EXPENSIVE. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN INEXPENSIVE NAME BRAND PORTABLE PLAYER WITH A GREAT PICTURE, I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS ONE. I'VE READ SOME REVIEWS SAYING THEIR PLAYERS WERE KIND OF NOISEY. THIS ONE ISN'T BAD AT ALL. MY FRIEND HASN'T SAID ANYTHING BAD ABOUT IT SO FAR SO I GUESS WE'LL RATE THE PHILIPS PET724 GOOD AND RECOMMENDED UNTIL IT PROVES US WRONG.
