This is a wonderful machine and I highly recommend it.
I decided to buy a fully automatic espresso machine after visiting a friend that served wonderful coffee on his Saeco Odea Go Plus. I been using the Krups XP2070 Programmable coffee maker that brews both coffee and espresso but after seeing how easy it was to use the Go Plus I decided to switch. Since Philips bought Saeco they discontinued the Go Plus and I went for the syntia HD8837, although it was a lot more expensive I was able to find a brand new machine on eBay for half the price listed in the Saeco website. Now about the machine, my first experience in making a cup of coffee or expresso was disappointing as the coffee was not only weak but tasteless and very washed out. Not wanting to give up after reading many positive reviews I decided to read again the customer reviews and found one that was very helpful. one reader that had the same complaint found that the bean repository was not working properly and it kept most of the beans from entering the grinder with the resulting weak coffee. I followed his advice and removed the grinder cover. That simple action resolved the problem! Now Im getting great coffee with a rich crema and a dark and strong coffee and espresso. I'm still working on the milk frother to get the milk to come out more creamy but to date Im very happy with the results. Some of the negative reviews deal with the small water tank and having to clean the dregdrawer when it's full, but as I am a one or two cups a day drinker I don't see this as a problem. Even if you drink several cups a day I don't see this as a deal breaker since the machine alerts you when the water tank has to be refilled and the dregdrawer emptied. I found that the better the beans or ground coffee used the better coffee experience you get. Read full review

Great espresso every time. Fully automatic so anyone can use it.
I love espresso and this machine makes it very simple to get restaurant quality expresso every time. This is my second Saeco machine; I also own a Vienna Plus. Over the past couple of weeks I have been able to compare the two. They both make excellent coffee, day in and day out. The Vienna Plus, which retails for much less than this machine seems to be aimed at an Espresso fanatic while this machine is aimed at someone who likes Espresso but also has several other machines for other types of coffee. For instance, the Vienna will stay on indefinitely while this machine turns off automatically in an hour. The Vienna can only process whole beans while this machine has a grinder bypass for pre-ground coffee (very nice). The Vienna is much larger and made of plastic while this machine is smaller and coated in stainless steel. The Vienna allows you to adjust the quantity of water each cup will receive via a front panel knob. This machine has two buttons to select either a shot or a full cup. The button can be programmed to change the amount that will be dispensed but it requires some effort. The Vienna gives you the ability to change the grind and the amount of coffee ground for each cup with knobs located in the coffee bean storage compartment. This machine gives you the ability to select 1, 2, 3 (relative amounts) or pre-ground coffee via a push button on the front panel. They both make it very easy to froth or warm milk via the wand. One his machine does that the Vienna does not is flush the entire system when the unit is turned on and when it turns off. Finally, the Vienna can be somewhat imposing for someone to use who hasn't seen it before while this machine is so automatic, anyone can use it without having seen it before. And the espresso is fantastic. I love this machine and know that I don't have to be around for someone else to use it. Read full review

I already own a Saeco Aroma that is four years old and was refurbished when I got it. That one is still going strong. I've kinda been on the lookout for a full automatic machine when I stumbled upon this. I got this because I go to work at 2 am and sometimes don't like fumbling around with the other one and figured I could use this with my eyes shut. Basically you turn this on with one button and make an espresso with another then turn it off. Easy-peachy. It doesn't make as strong an espresso as the other machine, even on its strongest setting but I can live with it. Looks beautiful, no scratches or marks from being used before. The only thing strange is I had to run a descaling program, which took about 20ish minutes. I didn't really care but the machine wanted it. The unit is small, barely bigger then the Aroma and the water tank suffers from the size but the door is on the front so no biggie. I would recommend to anyone looking for an inexpensive automatic. Great machine at a great price.
Awesome machine. I now only drink homemade lattes. This machine has totally changed mine and my wife's morning and afternoon routines with the simple ease at which we can make homemade espresso drinks. Paired with a vitamin blender, it's like my kitchen has been transformed into a coffee bar.

It is best way to make and drink a cup of coffee
I experience this machine at work place. I love the foamy coffee taste. Also I realized making one mug coffee will help us save big time. We are two people at home and every morning we were making a pot of coffee and just drink one or two cup. Now we enjoy our perfect brewed coffee.
