great basic phone with easy texting
For those users who are just not ready to move to a smart phone. Pluses of this Pantech Link p7040: super easy texting, availability of limited access to internet, much lower data monthly charges than associated with a smart phone. Minuses: camera adequate not great. I actually purchased this phone a second time after dropping it with damage to the screen.

cheap phone that will ably handle a lot of text and store a bit of data
this is a great qwerty phone for texting and messaging. while it was primarily marketed for the go-phone market, it will accept account sim-cards from at&t and t-mobile (familiarize yourself with dangers of locking a phone with an improper sim installation first, however, when switching between carriers). a good value because the phone lasts without significant data issues, and as a recently discontinued model it is widely available and can often be found at clearance prices for calls, the speaker and receiver are barely adequate, but the phone has a mid-level camera appropriate for everyday use and supports micro-sd chip storage and has usb connection option if you can figure out pantech's driver issues, they offer minimal support for this model. charger fits several other concurrent pantech phones, it is a proprietary connection. batteries wear quickly. - If you're looking for a quick replacement or standby phone, this is it!!
The touchscreen on my Samsung Impression crapped out on me so I was in desperate need of a cheap but good phone immediately. I am also a text fiend so having a QWERTY was beneficial. The Pantech Link had pretty good reviews and I found one for $35 on Ebay so I did not hesitate to purchase it. Pros: - The one thing that stood out for me was the QWERTY keyboard because the keys protrude out for a better feel for them This is especially bonus for me because I have thick fingers. - I think the internet browser is easier, faster, and more tolerable than my Impression ever was. - The Link uses thread conversation texting where you can select and read past text from a recent conversation Cons: - Keys on the QWERTY feel cheap; like they could break off if pushed down on them just enough. - Has a PC Suite, but since having the phone for a couple months, haven't been able to connect my phone to it. I really need the calendar feature so I can sync my Outlook calendar with my phone's calendar. (found out that the PC Suite isn't compatible with Windows 7 which the OS used at my job). - You cannot select multiple text conversations at a time to delete, and when your text conversation is full, it will not notify you until you've completed a text to send off (will not allow you to save that text so you pretty much typed it out for nothing which is frustrating when you're having a fluid conversation with someone) - Can't get to your text conversations instantly unless you receive a new text. - Read full review

Lightweight and easy to use
I purchased this phone as a gift for my mom and I really like it! However, before I ordered it, I didn't realize the camera had such poor quality (compared to other phones these days). That's the only feature I wasn't impressed with. Other than that... great phone! It's very lightweight and easy to use!

This is an amazing product and extremely affordable!
I love this phone. I was looking for a fun phone that could get a decent speed of Internet to check Facebook and my email. This phone is absolutely perfect. It is just like a Blackberry but better! I love the Qwerty keyboard. The buttons are just the right size for me. I also love the size of the screen. The different features that are on the phone are great too. It has a speakerphone that also has a recording feature on the phone. It has your basic tools like calculator, alarm clock, world time, etc. I have had a total of 6 phones in the last 10 years and this is by far my favorite. I had two flip phones during my college years which were alright. Then I had the Samsung Eternity I which I really liked. Samsung Eternity II was my next phone and that was a good phone but would constantly freeze. This is by far the best phone and I plan on keeping this phone as long as it lasts (hopefully that will be for many years!) For the price you can't go wrong especially in today's economic situation...it is extremely affordable. The only con is the battery life. I think my other phones would hold a little longer battery but I am also using Facebook and my email more so it could just be that my usage has gone up over the last few weeks. Read full review
