Very compact ang good photographic tool.
This is a good camera for travelling and general purpose photography. It is light to carry and good in every department of photography. This is an excellent camera in a small package. The camera has GPS built in which has a location finder. It is a good feature while travelling in unknown places.GPS will always show where the pictures were taken. It can make excellent movies with a 32gb SD card heavy on the battery drain if you keep GPS on. I would recommend a spare charged battery. What a camera!

Great photos, fast performance, pocket sized, well made, super zoom.
Really like it. Size of a compact pocket point and click, quality photos. The HD movies are excellent and you can take stills whilst shooting HD video. The speed from turning on to taking a photo is remarkable. The zoom is enormous. The image stabilisation is also very very good. It's like having a tripod. The ability take 10 photos a second means I never miss the fraction of a second when something happens - like the splashing of a puddle or a runner crossing the finish line. I didn't think the battery lasted very long on my first day, but then realised I'd taken over 350 photos - so it's actually very god. The 320 frames per second video is a novelty - as is the GPS both of which I never use.

Great camera and amazing HD video
Previously I had the TZ5, but managed to drop it face down in the sand whilst on holiday. Not the best thing to do to a camera, I later found out! When looking for a replacement I thought I'd look into the the TZ20, which I later bought. Again it's a great camera and I'm really pleased with my purchase. It has a massive 16x optical zoom and the picture quality is great unless at low light settings. This can make the pictures quite 'grainy'. As it is a 14MP camera, the picture files are enormous - anything up to 7mb each. Therefore buy a decent sized SD card. To take advance of the HD video on it, make sure it is a quick one too. I have a 16gb Class 10 Kingston card that I bought off of eBay for less than £20. The video is amazing. On the TZ5, the video was acceptable, but definitely looked like it had been shot on a (photo) camera rather than a video camera. The TZ20 looks every bit as good as a decent video camera. I am very impressed. It has an HDMI port on the side so you can plug straight into an HD ready device such as HDTV or recordable Blueray. The battery is physically smaller in size than the one on the TZ5, and with all the extra features like GPS, the TZ20 does burn through the charge quicker. I reckon the TZ5 needed charging about once a week on normal use on a holiday, the TZ20 would probably need charging twice. As mentioned there are lots of other features like GPS and 3D, but for 3D you will need a 3D TV. This is not something I've tested yet. All in all, it's a great camera for photos, amazing for video (providing you have a fast enough memory card!) with loads of other features that you may/may not use, but will certainly keep you interested!Read full review

Only useable if u have bright light. Everything else will cost "photo-fun"
Just bought as an upgrade for my TZ10. More than a "nice to have it"... but there a lot of things, that will leave a negative impression. If you´ve had a earlier TZ you´ll find a close way of using it. Pictures made with enough light are wonderful- you´ll be happy with it. But when the light fade... and iso rises above 400 limit pictures seems to be made within a snow shower ;) + all possibilities/bright light - when using the flash, making a film with darker scenes or trying to take a photo when it´s dark. For these last issues you shout take the older TZ7 or TZ10. Better choice!!

Lumix TZ20 is the ideal camera for holidays outings and candid long shots.
I had a Lumix TZ10 and I mislaid it, so decided to get the TZ20 from Ebay. The zoom, which I like to use, is more at 16:1 vs 12:1 and amazingly works even if you aren't steady, for example I took a picture at about 10:1 on a moving bus and it's fine. The video button is at the top, which is more positive. I find this the ideal camera to take on holiday, since you can wear it with a belt case and it's easy to take out and not too much of a bulge under your jacket or whatever. Bigger cameras may give a better result and have more zoom, but you've got to lug them around. Better the camera you have, rather than the one that's at home.
