Must use proper charger and cable for continuing usage
Most are having the issue with their devices dying or shutting off while plugged in. This is because you need to use a higher wattage charger, and proper charging cable. Ever get that message on your Android device telling you that your device is charging slowly. It's the same concept.

Good product for mobile internet, not suited for home internet replacement.
I was hoping to replace my home internet with this device. The device is fast and holds connection well; however, it seems that it will not charge and run while the battery is in. In order for me to use this as my primary internet device it needs to be able to run entirely off of the AC adapter, but instead it would wear down the battery, then shutoff and charge. I still need to try to use it without the battery in it at all. I'm not sure if it will work or not in that case. I put my iPhone 5 nano-sim (with a nano-regular sim adapter) in this device, and was able to use my grandfathered unlimited data plan without issue (which is something that Verizon said WAS possible -- this is possible because of the deal they made when the purchased the 700Mhz spectrum for LTE I believe). Side note: Streaming Hulu for about 3 hours from my PS3 off of this device consumed about 3gb of data (which is fine if you have the unlimited data plan). Read full review

Device works well as hotspot, watch out for data usage on Verizon website
The hotspot was easy to activate with Verizon (for $35 activation fee) and all devices connected easily using. MiFi password. Connection speed is as good as TWC cable modem in 4G mode (green) and speeds are reasonable with 3G (purple). The only issue is that occasionally it will drop the connection and will require a power cycle. Seems it sometimes happens when device switches from 4G to 3G. Finally, watch out for Verizon's data usage report. Their website is very easy to check usage and I checked it very closely during the last week of my billing cycle and it showed that I was just below the 5G limit ($50 per month), but when I got the bill, I was suurprised to be over by 1.9G with a $20 overage charge. When I contacted Verizon, they did credit me the overage charge, but they could not explain the difference in the daily reporting on the website. My bill did add up in terms of the usage, and there was one night that it showed 2.9 GB usage when I was connected to my work VPN. The problem was that that usage did not show up on the usage website, only on my bill. Read full review

Good Product Especially For Travelling! Small and easy to use!
As a Canadian I had a few problems using the unit in the USA while I travel. The Online Verizon site does not allow you to use a Canadian Credit Card to pay time for your device. Only other optipn was to use prepaid gift cards that you can get at Target etc. The device works well however. Drops out occasionally at remote locations, but aside from that it works good. The new firmware fixed a few outstnading issues. I am happy with the device.
