What a wonderful book. I could read this book over and over again. I really loved Konstantinos' perspective on the four spiritual "directions" of people. The light/dark examples of these personal spirits were interesting and different. I found the entire book very insightful and intriguing compared to the usual witchcraft fluff that's so prevalent and seemingly tries to smother the idea of the true balance between the dark and light sides of life. I enjoyed the fact that Konstantinos stayed his course and kept his objective pointing toward the modern and ancient craft of paganism, in which darker art and noctural magick may not necessarily be the mainstream or be pleasant for everyone to swallow, but should be, at least, considered as a part of our collective existence. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in exploring a broader view of witchcraft. I will definitly buy more books from this author as an relative addition to my extensive collection of pagan theology. Great writing, wonderful humor and unusual perception make Konstantinos' works an intellectual collection in and of itself.Read full review
It gives a lot of the basic information needed for what it covers. It also is more personal than other instructional style books, making it feel more like you're being instructed by a person rather than a nameless faceless being who doesn't care. It also gives different options and encourages you to try something your own way. It is a very good book for people who are just beginning the craft or are just curious. I think that it cold be slightly longer, and contain a larger section on Gods and Godesses. The small area in the back doesn't give much information. It would also help if there were more exercises contained in it. I bought the book because it found me, not once, but twice. I'm very glad that I did.
I decided to buy this book a second time to replace a copy that I decided to gift to a friend. I continue to enjoy the writing style of this author. His sole dedication to helping those of us who feel drawn to the nocturnal hours and powers is admirable and I am very appreciative for the direct nature of his teachings. I suggest this read for any of you who may balance a darker side and often find yourself wakened in the darkest hours of the night knowing there is something you should be doing, something that needs your attention. This autor will teach you skills you will not learn anywhere else.
I really loved this manual. It was by far different than what I expected, but in a really great way. It has brought new light to how I have felt and looked at the world my whole life. It has enthralled me since the moment I opened the cover.I highly reccomend this to anyone following the old ways.It has wonderful relaxation technichs as well to help achieve your goals easie to attain.
As a long time witch, I have always loved the nights. I actually prefer the nights. My boyfriend is also a student of the arts, and I have always told him that to be an accomplished witch, you also have to know about the dark side of things, including rituals and spell work that is done at night. Witchcraft has always been walking a thin line in the grey area, neither dark or white. Intentions are in the heart of the witch.
