Powerful, adaptive and always ready to use.
I decided to buy it because I am sick and tired of Ni-Cd and Ni-Mh accu because of their self-charging. My old Drill/Driver was Bort 18V and it was very convenient for home DIY. It has only one working speed and sometimes I felt a lack of moment while I did not want it to be so fast. BDF-451 has 3 speeds and I like the opportunitty to control power tradibg speed and moment. It has instant switch from drilling to driving with preset moment that is very convenient. LED lamp helps to work in the dark places.Li-Ion accu alwaus ready to use because it has not self discharging effect. New smart charger is very fast and charges accus safely. I can see only minor disadvantages: Direct/Reverse/Stop switcher often is pressed to Stop when you push the trigger and the tool is a little bit heavy .
Makita BD 451 Cordless Drill
As an Electrician, this drill meets my expectations and stands up to the abuse I put it through. This drill is lightweight, powerful, and strong enough for the demands I require. The keyless chuck, variable speeds and lightweight battery, combine to make this drill a good choice. The LED light is an added feature that comes in handy when operating in low level light areas. I have been through alot of cordless drills and having used the first Makita in the late 1980's, Makita is still making a cordless drill that the professional can rely on to perform as needed to do the job.
