Product arrived 1 day early. It is working as expected although I found it does not support ProtoSound 1.0 (just 2.0 and 3.0). Easy to setup and works fine with the 3.0 locomotive.

Works ok but is not very user friendly. If you use the MTH wifi hotspot the unit has to be reconnected every time you power up. When you power down it will list your added engine as inactive when you power back up and you have to add it back. I have not been able to find a way to delete inactive engines. The telephone app is clumsy to use. I like the regular DCS system a lot better.

The MTH DCS Explorer is a good start into the DCS track interphase system. It accesses control of your P2 and P3 engine via the down load app. It enables you to control speed, use the Horn, bell, couplers, smoke, headlight and limited sounds. There is slightly more access to functions than using a conventional transformer. It Is easy to set up and fun to use. The down side is there is limited access to sounds and there is no way to update the software. It is a bit pricy since it is not in production and limited in supply. But still less expensive than the next level DCS interphase unit. Overall it is a good product and I would recommend it.

It is a very simple set up, easy to use, running trains with the use of the phone app is smooth, the user must realize that the DCS only works for Proto 2 and above.

I have found no issue and love the DCS Explorer. It gave me access to features of my MTH steam engine that I did not have with a standard transformer
