This remake of the classic movie "Lassie Come Home" is not as good as the original but I found it extremely likeable. The main difference in the two films is the beefing up of the Peter O'Toole role other wise what was in the first film is in this version about a poor family from Wales selling their sons prize collie to a rich man. Who takes the dog to his home in Scotland and the collie escapes to return to its original owner. Just like the first film this one is heartbreaking at times and demonstrates the faithful love that a dog has for its master.
This is a reasonably close remake of the 1943 film Lassie come Home. I think it is better acted and has far better production values. Mason, the dog is excellent; but Pal, the dog in 1043 set an amazingly high standard.

This an thoroughly enjoyable version of the Lassie that is, in some ways, more believable than the traditional versions. The characters are excellent and captivating from the boy to Peter O'Toole.
