I bought an LG from the same buyer, about the same price. only lasted a summer before the compressor went out which means you pretty much just have to buy a new one. Knowing that more than likely the same is going to happen to this one I still buy it because it keeps my apartment ice cold on hot days and I can't stand the heat, can't live in it or sleep in it. So it's worth it even if it only lasts a summer like normal.

The only reason I bought it was the ability to control via Smart Phone. SmartThinQ Guess what - it doesn't work. Or takes forever to connect. I called LG support they said they are still working on cleaning up the bugs. At least they are aware. Let's see, if that changes I would give it 5 stars. As far as cooling part (little noisy) is pretty adequate for the price. So, if you don't care about WiFi - this is a good buy.

I bought the unit because I could control it via WiFi. However, my cable modem is not on the approved list of routers! I CAN'T USE THE WI-FI!!! With 14,000 BTU's it still works like a charm. It's usually set on 74°

Noisier than expected and the water tank filled in less than a hour, code E5 and it cuts out. Constantly having to drain it. Had to put the whole unit up on blocks,left the drain plug out,so we could use a big drain tray from the garage or I would have been up all night draining it. This model needs the drain system improving. Not suitable for humid Florida.

When our house AC went out we used this portable unit for three nights. On low it was like having a jet engine on. We tried setting to the energy savings setting so it wouldn't stay on all the time, but it went on and off about every 5 minutes. And this unit was rated the best for being quiet which makes me think how bad the other products are.
