Great tool, pricy but you get what you pay for in this case. Do not know if it is a good value, I am sure you could find something else for half the price which would accomplish the same task, but would you enjoy it and how many axes will you get until you find discount ax of compatible performance. This ax and sheath are superb. Very well made. No flows in workmanship that I could see. When you handle it you are confident that the tool is of great quality and will last a long time. Blade is as sharp as a knife, I understand this is tool steel so should retain its edge but needs to be oiled. I already took it on a scouting mission with my son. Made 2 walking sticks with ease and prepped them for drying, all by using just the ax. Walking with it is easy, handle is just right. I was looking for something to replace my foot long knife which I abused and this ax did the trick. Cant wait for my next kill to see if I can use this ax when i dress and butcher the deer. Hatchet is Tiny .. Handle looks like a factory second .. Handle is bent at the top 4-5 degrees & has a gap where it is pressed into the head ... The Sheath is worth more than the hatchet. Price point is more of $40. not $85 ...
