For years I was look...ing for a book like this. Mr. Raskin leaves no stone unturned when it comes to James Dean last journey. The author literally answers all the questions. The book is very well written, and very structured. The author takes the reader by the hand with an hour to hour very detailed insight of 30 september 1955. We all know how that fatal day ends, but Mr. Raskin manages to write with such a suspense that it was almost impossible for me to put the book aside. While reading I could not help thinking "Please Jimmy, don't drive your wonderful new car." The book is packed with details I did not know. For example Jimmy's last phone call to his friend ("It is your funeral") and Jimmy giving his ring to Rolf Wutherich before heading to Salinas. Absolutely heartbreaking. Furthermore the story is illustrated with almost all legendary pictures of Sanford Roth. They are absolutely wonderful. Moreover the author convincingly debunks the myth of the Spyder being cursed. Very insightful are the depositions of the witnesses of the accident. Though not intended by the author (I think) the book is about limited time during one's lifetime just as James Dean declared several times. But from the pages of this book, James Dean and his Porsche Spyder really live on. Considering this book really as a labour of love, I wish Mr. Raskin eventually finds the original Porsche of James Dean - the Speedster. That would really be something. Last but not least, Mr. Raskin wrote me a nice message in the book. A must have for every Porsche and James Dean fan. - Paul

I can’t say enough good things about this... book. The author dispels so many inaccuracies and untruths about that final drive, and everything that came after. It may change everything you thought you knew about the crash and the disposition of Little Bastard. Raskin has carefully and painstakingly uncovered the truth about James Dean’s last ride. Highly recommended.
