This is a great movi...e for the whole family to enjoy and also very entertaining. Absolutely the best I've seen in 3D. Since the new invention of 3D television I'm always looking for a good 3D film to watch and this one really satisfies in every aspect. Excellent video quality and having a wonderful story, it does not disappoint.

...I loved this film. I know it's received mixed reviews, but I found it enchanting. Yes the color seems a bit too enhanced at times, but I love all things French. I hadn't read anything when I was invited to see the film, so I had no idea what it was going to be. So it goes along very much like a children's film, but then goes into this most delightful homage to early film. And then the story really starts to make sense. The story plays out much like a clock work puzzle and the end is what makes all the parts make sense. I really enjoyed it. And again if you love all things French, as I do, you never get tired of spending a couple hours in France, even if it's only in a movie theater. It is a bit strange that all the French have British accents, but that's typical of British films... even ones made by American's I guess. This is entertainment the whole family can enjoy. Watch it. Cheers and Blessings, Max Rainet. **If you found this information at all helpful, please take a moment to select the "yes" button below. Martin Scorsese ...has done something wonderful here. He has created a film classic like the Wizard of Oz that shares his love and respect for the dawn of movies that reveals even more on repeated viewings. It is the story of Hugo Cabret, a young boy abandoned in life, trying to survive living in a Paris railway station and his relationship with George Melies (the famous silent film pioneer)now down on his luck owning a toy booth there. This is a film where 3D is finally an essential part. You are not hammered with special effects. From the subtle falling snowflakes to the giant gear mechanisms of the station, the 3D creates a palpable environment. Sir Ben Kingsley is superb as Melies; you can feel his torment! Asa Butterfield is excellent as Hugo. Even Sacha Baron Cohen rises to the occasion as the station manager. The other cast members are uniformly excellent (kudos to Christopher Lee's understated performance). This is a rare and special film. A MUST HAVE!
A very engaging film with an incredible... 3D experience. Obviously the production team that put this film together spent a lot of time figuring out how to get the most effective use of the the 3D medium, and it shows. The characters and plotline were also very interesting, and although not entirely factual (this is not a documentary after all) it does have enough basis in fact to draw you into the story. Even as a non 3D movie, I'd recommend it to anyone with an interest in early film history.
