This "House of Secrets" comic is in, my estimation, GD 2.0 (even though cover looks FN- 5.5 condition).
SIlver Age DC Comics HOUSE OF SECRETS #74 (Sep. 1965)
Published September, 1965 with credited and/or researched artwork and inks by Bernard Baily (1916-1996) and Jack Sparling (1917-1997). Stories written by Robert “Bob” Haney (1926-2004) who was best known as co-creator of the silver age Teen Titans. Letters by Stan Starkman (aka Stan Quil) who passed in 2011, but little information is available online. Minimal information is also available on editor Jack Schiff who retired a few short years after this issue (1967) and passed in 1999 according to one online source. “The Negative Eclipso” stories feature Dr. Bruce Gordon, Mona Bennett and Professor Bennett vs. the villain, Negative Eclipso. The second feature story “Wizard of 1,000 Moods!” features Prince Ra-Man, who first appeared in previous issue (#73) and who would later be reincarnated as Mark Merlin. Elsa, Ed, M.T. Griggs and Memakata (the cat) also appear in a battle versus Zandor Caldoz and Nicholas Cyrian. A good measure of pleasure can be derived by both reading and viewing this vintage comic book that is also a few years older than this reviewer. While I mostly enjoyed books by a comic publisher growing up, it is relatively convenient to obtain these vintage comics in fair to at least very good conditions for enjoyment by current and future generations. I personally enjoy researching the creative talent on such items in order to determine what other comic work they created both before and after this publication. As always, collect what you enjoy, and enjoy life. heroesandhobbyz review posted 3.27.2016.Read full review
