Always loved Bill Murray....especially in the cleaner mo...vies with no nudity or swearing. (at least no swearing that I can remember...but I don't think there was) I think this has some good life lesson in the message of the movie somewhere. If you want something bad enough, you can change your attitude in life if you're a jerk with ego. He found an opportunity to realize that and took advantage of it and became a better person for it. I thought this was cleverly done and his acting doesn't disappoint. The humor is fun and I just totally enjoyed it. It's a movie I could watch several times a year...and still enjoy it.

I thought I wouldn't care as much for this mov...ie watching it the first time after being disappointed by Lost in Translation. THAT little bomb made me leary or Bill Murray's comedy style. But Groundhog Day is HILARIOUS!!!! Great performances by Andie MacDowell and Bill Murray. Te situation is totally whimsical but yet, with our rumors of the infamous Bermuda Triangle, it may cause some of us to wonder... This movie is recommended for almost everyone, albeit with a bit of discretion from parents simply for some light profanity, if I remember correctly. Otherwise, it is a great film. It's one movie a guy WON'T be mad about having to watch on a date. There is a light romantic element but mostly this film is just palin funny. Happy Viewing!
There is non-stop humor here (until t...he reality of a very cold and painful life intrudes - which leads to humor and wisdom, too). I always see something new when watching this. So many of its phrases and actions have become a part of my communications with my wife. One of us says a phrase from the movie (ex: "what?" or "am I right?") and we both chuckle. I HIGHLY recommend this movie to you.

Groundhog Day was a solid performer in its initial... release, grossing $70.9M in North America and ranking 13th among films released in 1993,[3] but did not achieve blockbuster status. It found a second life on home video and cable, entrenching itself as one of the great American films of the late twentieth century. The film is number thirty-four on the American Film Institute's list of 100 Funniest Movies, and Roger Ebert has revisited it in his "Great Movies" series. After giving it a three-star rating in his original review, Ebert acknowledged in his "Great Movies" essay that, like many viewers, he had initially underestimated the film's many virtues and only came to truly appreciate it through repeated viewings. This film is number 32 on Bravo's "100 Funniest Movies". In Total Film's 1990s special issue, Groundhog Day was deemed the best film of 1993 (the year that saw the release of Schindler's List, The Piano and The Fugitive). In 2000, readers of Total Film magazine voted it the seventh greatest comedy film of all time. The Writers Guild of America ranked the screenplay #27 on their list of 101 Greatest Screenplays ever written.[4] National Review magazine featured the movie on its cover on February 14, 2005, saying that it "will almost undoubtedly join It's a Wonderful Life in the pantheon of America's most uplifting, morally serious, enjoyable, and timeless movies."[5] It maintains a 95% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
A great movie about the actions of of one, Phil Con...ners(Bill Murray). He is arrogant, mean, and just a know it all. One day he gets stuck in a time warp. Groundhog day will keep repeating it's self until he learns to become a better human being. A great movie from the early 1990's recommended.
