The FIA Formula 1 Championships 2000 season is heating up and EA SPORTS is in the thick of it with their introduction to the world of Formula 1 action. As an officially licensed product, F1 2000 features all the real drivers, cars, teams, circuits, rules, and action of the real thing.
EA SPORTS' F1 2000 is split into four game modes: Quick Race, Time Trial, Weekend, and Championships. Quick Race offers a single-race quick setup mode with the option to go ahead and reselect drivers, circuits, grid positions, and other options, including race laps, difficulty, damage, and one- or two-player action. Speaking of circuits and drivers, all 17 circuits are modeled upon their real locations and all drivers from the 2000 season are here.
Time Trial allows gamers to challenge their own best circuit times as well as view their fastest laps. Weekend mode is a surprising addition to F1 2000; this mode offers gamers an in-depth look at what a Formula 1 driver would face in a single weekend. For example, you can set strategies considering weather, pit stops, tyre command, and fuel options; you can also select custom grids, sift through your trophy collection, switch circuits, and also take part in practice and qualifying sessions as you progress toward the weekend's climax.
Championship may be the final mode, but this is what the Formula 1 addicts have been waiting for. Spanning an entire season, gamers are to control a driver for an entire championship year. F1 2000 is also available in four languages, including English, French, and German, and features a two-player split-screen option through the Quick Race mode.
