Best Anime Ever
This is one of the best animes I've seen so far. Incredible...err...everything! Here is my review (Original Japanese Version): ================================================================================ •Sound: -Soundtrack: Surprising! Even though I mainly listen to Metal music, I found this calm soundtrack awesome (not one I will be hearing all the time, but it suits the anime very well). It's very fitting, and the central melody of the anime "Lilium" appears in several incarnations. The opening itself (Main version of Lilium) is awesome. When I heard it for the first time, I didn't like it at all, but throughout the show, I ended up loving it. The ending was the only thing I didn't like in this anime. -Voicework: Before I watched Elfen Lied, I heard some pretty rough comments about the voices. I don't understand those comments at all. The voices are just perfect, and fit the characters brilliantly. Sound: 5 out of 5 ================================================================================ •Animation: Really impressive animation. Super colorful environments, and the characters look awesome. Of course, you probably were already warned about the gore and nudity on Elfen Lied. The anime really has some extreme scenes, so if you are sensitive to violence and blood, do be careful. However, the amount of gore is adequate for the anime's storyline, same goes with the scenes of nudity. For anyone who thinks that way, this is isn't hentai, in ANY possible way. Animation: 5 out of 5 ================================================================================ •Story: Even if EL wasn't that great in the other aspects, it would still be worth watching just because of the storyline. Incredibly intense storyline, with strong psychological scenes (same as the animation, this anime is not for the faint of heart), that really add a special taste to the story. Do not forget to watch the OVA (which is in fact between episodes 10 and 11, it isn't episode 14), because it focuses some important stuff. The way facts intertwine with each other as the anime advances is incredible. Story: 5 out of 5 ================================================================================ Characters: The characters in Elfen Lied have extremely deep personalities, and it's easy to get captivated by them. It really is impressive to see the bonds between them, as they are formed and broken. Really amazing. As for the artwork, as amazing as it could be. Characters: 5 out of 5 ================================================================================ Enjoyment: If you like intense psychological horror stories, you will love Elfen Lied. The storyline goes really deep, and it has plenty of action scenes. I never found it boring at any time. Enjoyment: 5 out of 5 ================================================================================ Overall: Among the huge amount of anime series I've watched this is certainly one of my favorites. It really isn't meant to be watched by people under 18, or for sensitive people, but it's just incredible in everything. PERFECT! Overall: 5 out of 5 Read full review

Elfen Lied......OMFG Awesome!!!!!
I LOVE THIS ANIME!!! And it's not for the nudy bits or the blood (even though that's a plus :P). Elfen lied is a 13 episode anime series and I have to say....it's very graphic. I'm gonna compare Elfen Lied to another graphic anime called "Gantz". Gantz is twice as long (26 episodes) but Elfen Lied has MORE gore and nudity, the only thing Gantz had that Elfen Lied didn't have was a full blown sex scene (Gantz actually had 2 of them) but that's NOT why I like this anime as I've stated before. I like this anime for it's story about a girl who loses her memory and gains a split personality. One is the innocent lost girl Nyu who can't even speak, the other is Lucy, a cold blooded killer who uses her invisible hands (called vectors) to rip/cut people to shreds. As I've also stated before this anime is very graphic in nature so if you have a weak stomach I wouldn't recomend watching or buying this, but if you like blood and gore, I would say "Why the hell are you still reading this!?! GO BUY IT NOW!" 20/10 :P Read full review

Like the other reviewers say: it does have a lot of gore and nudity. And your thinking what kind of anime is this? A great anime is what it is. Some people say that its story sucks and there is no need for the gore and nudity. Actually I think so. That helps the whole story in my opinion. Sure I am not the person who really likes to see excess gore and such but it seems to be appropriate. Though the anime is about 75% of what the manga is, I think it doesn't need to go that far and it does have a great ending and an open ending because it doesn't show you the viewer how it actually ends. I like anime like that because you never have closure and it makes you think about it. Kind of a sad story though as the whole reason for the anime is revealed in the last few episodes. Great anime and you should buy it! Read full review

A Beautifully Bloody show love everything about it
To put it simply this Elfen Lied is elegantly gruesome. This show is unique in that you're drawn in by not only the beautifully animated bloodshed but the strong emotional ties between the characters. These qualities make it one of my favorite animes.

To beautiful to miss!
I really adored Elfen Lied. It toutched me. Yeah sure there was gore and nudity. But the story line was great, I almost cried at times for the poor girl. Great visual and I LOVE THE SOUNDTRACK!!!
