Ok...if you're like me and you can't afford or don't want to go to the gym, but still want a workout, then the EA Sports Active 2 may be just right for you. It has several workouts to choose from, and it gives you the option of doing a short or standard (9 week) workout. Don't be fooled: it may appear to be a game, but it is a fairly accurate one. It will force you into executing the respective exercises in a specific manner, and that's so you keep using proper form. So what's to like/love about it? Well, it can get you into decent shape if you stay faithful to the exercises and eat a healthy diet. It has a wide variety of exercises that should keep you occupied. The program has acceptable graphics, but you're not purchasing this for the graphics anyway...the trainer is merely a guide. It does allow you to input some stats (e.g., age, weight, sex, etc.) which it does try to keep track of, as well as other activities that you may be engaging in (e.g., dancing, household chores, running, etc.). It also comes with a green elastic stretch band (my band did NOT come with handles though, despite the package indicating that it was supposed to). So what's not to like? Well, it isn't always the most accurate in terms of detecting proper positioning between arm and leg positions. So you may have to reset your stances or positioning in order for the system to detect it properly. The other is that sometimes, you CAN cheat through some of the exercises. Also, the amount of data that this system is able to keep track of is based on 3 sensors: one for each arm, and one for a leg. It may track your heart rate (a good thing), but it doesn't have any options if a specific muscle group gets tired pretty quickly. So, the programming is somewhat limited. Overall, is it worth it? Well, as I said, given the price to go to a gym (or buy your own gym equipment), this isn't a bad substitute. It will get your heart rate going, and it will keep you entertained as you go through the exercises. So long as you stay true to the program and try to NOT cheat, I'd say it's worth trying. Now, whether you think the price you pay is worth it is up to you to decide. Personally, if EA makes some upgrades to the system (perhaps USING the PlayStation Eye), then I could see some SERIOUS improvements being made that would incorporate more realistic motion movement. And the more realistic it is, the better the workout quality. Let's hope for such an update in a future iteration...in the mean time, this version is plenty good as is, and I'd say go for it.Read full review

This is a really good workout. I wasn't expecting too much, but found there are 3 level to choose from so for beginners like me this was a plus. I love that I can do this in my home all alone without making a fool of myself in front of others. I love the exercises that are like biking, skating, soccer, and not only traditional sit ups ect... There is one exercise with the resistance band that doesn't seem to pick up on the motion detector. I don't think its me because it always only the one and it did it with my daughter too. Overall, its a good investment. It got me off the couch and gets my heart pumping, which cannot be a bad thing. Fun way to exercise!!!!!!!!!!!
It is a great workout system that will give you a good workout. There are delays at times with the system keeping up with the person working out. This is my second set so that my wife can workout with me. The system could be more user friendly, especially for those that do not have internet service. It is complicated to set up a second player if the first player has been using the system for a while. Still, I have recommended it to many people and will continue to do so.
wanted the game for myself as my boyfriend has it and I wanted a set of the monitors so I could play with him. the product was new. the batteries that were included in the box were corroded, but that was to be expected as it is an old game.
