I replaced my Shark upright with this Dyson because the release mechanism for the wand broke on my Shark. I am pleased with the Dyson so far. The suction between the two is about the same with a slight edge to the Dyson. The design and ease of use also goes to the Dyson. I am hoping that durability will also be better with the Dyson. I only had the Shark for four years years before the wand release broke which is very disappointing. I can only hope that for greater cost the Dyson will hold up better. The only con so far with the Dyson is the fact that the cord is a bit too short.

Cheaper plastic used to make this compared to my other Dysons. VERY FLIMSY construction of the hinge and the roller ball. Overall bad design, but too lazy to return. Will use until it breaks but would not recommend buying this product.

I especially like the swivel ball feature that helps go around corners. It's easy to store also.

Watched some great u tube shows on models and comparisons. Suggest you do same. This one met my need. Lots of power and half the cost of the ultimate solution. These are well designed and more power than portable. Need a step up. Light enough to haul up stairs Do the videos they show you everything. Not company sponsored.

Great vacuum. Only thing I don't like is you can't remove the straight piece on the end of the hose. It also needs a long curved extension for the end of the straight piece. It otherwise is fantastic. Strong suction, light weight, and easy to maneuver and empty.
