Purchsed this handy little guide due to my having a Pre-Diabetic condition, and am hoping to change my way of cooking in order to control my condition without becoming a diabetic. There are numberous recipes divided into categories such as salads, deserts, etc. I will have to change my grocery shopping to include fresh herbs and spices in order to fix many of the recipes, and do more advanced meal planning. Some of the recipes sound soooo good! I have not started cooking yet, but read the entire book one night. It is easy to read and understand. The biggest disappointment was that there are only 5 complete meal plans in this book; I was really hoping for more as I just do not like to figure out or plan meals. If someone puts everything in front of me, I will make it. But to have to pick and choose is not my "cup of tea." Each recipe is divided into what ingredients you will need, prep time, and the "exchange" value along with calorie count and number of servings. Very easy to follow. I value the info and certainly will use many of the recipes, preparing them until they become a "habit" that will replace some of my old habits that I need to get rid of or change.Read full review
