Awesome reel, I have a Revo STX that I also purchased at the same time but personally feel the Tatula CT type R casts noticeably better with virtually no back lashes once dialed in per bait. Being right handed this is my first lefty and now I wish all of my other bait casters were lefty. Casting effort is less and distance more, retrieves are smooth. It did require a fair amount of adjusting on drag system to make it work properly but not apparent problems now. I absolutely love this reel and feel it outperforms other reels I own that cost considerably more. Compared to the REVO STX I believe the Tatula out casts it, though the STX is also very nice. It requires slightly more effort to cast, retrieve is smooth but I prefer the tatula retrieve. You can't go wrong with either reel, once the STX is dialed in per bait back lashes are rare. The Tatula feels slightly heavier and larger while the STX palms very easily feeling almost too small. Thumbs up all around.Read full review

Angling equipment is very opinionated when it comes to reviews. My opinion is, for quality, performance and comfort you can't get a better reel in the 100-150 dollar price range. This is my third Tatula (2nd CT) and they all are great workhorse reels. The original Tatula isn't the most comfortable reel for me, but the new CT fit my palm perfectly. Weather being tossed around in the boat, being dragged through trees and brush these reels take the abuse. Give one a try. You won't be disappointed.

Without a doubt Daiwa makes amazing reels and for the price you can’t beat this deal the tatula is an all around versatile reel. This is my 5th type R reel and I am sure it won’t be my last! Best of luck to all anglers out there!

Great reel and performance and build quality are excellent. I wouldn't buy any baitcasters in this price range other that a Type R!

This reel is a solid performer. This last purchase of 4 Tatula CT Type R100's brings my total to 6 out of the 27 I carry in the boat, and I'll be getting more - soon. I'm replacing all of the Revo STX's with these reels. I have some Lew's that I like a lot and those will not be getting replaced. The only weak point, on an otherwise stellar reel, is that once the bait exceeds 3/4oz. The MagForce Z braking struggles to manage the spool speed. This is only an issue on baits exceeding 3/4oz. on extremely hard long distance cast. Hence the reason I'm hanging on to my Lew's Tournament Pros..
