Ok, from the very beginning of this review, let me say I am a little biased. My youngest son is named Ian and he has severe autism. I was looking for a book to share with his twin brother because he has started to notice that Ian is different. The book tells a touching story about an older sister that takes Ian for a walk, only to have Ian annoy her with his "quirks." She even states that Ian sometimes makes her angry. It showed how Ian did things differently based on his perception and his senses. He sees, smells, hears, things differently. She is embarassed by Ian. Then Ian wanders off and she has to put herself in his shoes and finds him. She learned to see things through his eyes. It was very touching. I even cried at the end. I loved the book and thought it was a wonderful story to share with a sibling. Too often we forget that an autistic sibling can put pressure on a sibling to be understanding of autism. This showed a tender way to be compassionate.Read full review
