The first few nights spent in this tent was in the pouring ...rain. It didn't disappoint. We got it put up just before the deluge (we practiced set up once when we got it) pretty quickly. We are a family of 4 and were able to get all of our gear and ourselves inside. It wasn't cramped exactly, but tent capacity ratings are usually exaggerated. Keep that in mind when you buy ANY tent. That said, it's a great tent and it didn't leak. What more could you ask for? Good seller, nice, easy transaction, and the tent arrived on time. Recommended seller.

I purchased this tent for a planned weekend of camping. I set ...it up at home first as I did not want any surprises. Before I had the tent completely set up, I had two pole failures. One was a main pole which splintered at one of the joints. The other pole that broke was one of the awning poles on the rain fly. I contacted Coleman and they supplied me with build your own pole kits. I took the tent out camping and had another awning pole break. While camping we encountered some moderate to heavy rain and we stayed dry. Not sure how it will hold up in windy conditions though, the ends tried to collapse when we had 35-40 MPH gusts. I would not recommend this tent for any reason.

PROS: Our family of 4 had tons of space in the Red Canyon...! My wife and I slept in the middle on a queen air mattress, and our kids slept on either side of us, behind the room dividers. This tent is well made, and feels like it will hold up to many years of use. Most of the ceiling is see-through mesh, which is neat to see the night sky and let the breeze in on a summer day. CONS: Nothing major, only small complaints. If you (or your toddler) take afternoon naps, this tent didn't seem ideal for that. Since the ceiling is mostly mesh, the sun will be right in your eyes if you don't have a spot in the shade. The rain fly helps, but makes it much hotter in the tent. Even with fans blowing, it was miserably stuffy at 85 degrees. Also, it was still very bright with the gray rain fly on, but I suppose a black fly probably would've been hotter still. The best way to avoid these issues is to pitch your tent in the shade! (or I've heard of covering your tent in a reflective emergency blanket) Last thing; the front and back mesh windows have zip-up covers, but unfortunately the 2 side ones are always open. In a busy campground, its about impossible to get dressed without all the neighbors being able to see right in. Overall its been a great investment, we would recommend our friends to buy it. I havent found the perfect tent yet, but this one is close! Always buy a tent rated for at least 1.5- 2x more people than you have!

While I'm here let me s...ay this thing is huge. It's bigger than my actual room in my house. I set it up for practice in my living room with cathedral ceilings and this took up just about then entire space vertically and horizontally. That being said, it was a breeze to set up. As easy as any 2 or 4 man tent I've ever had. High quality seams, tons of windows, great rain fly. Nice little door mat area too. You could easily sleep 15 people in this thing.

I purchas...ed the tent for a family camp out; it slept 3 adults and 3 children in 2 queen beds and a twin comfortably. We used the room dividers and the rain guard. One night of our trip it rained from 5pm until 8am the following morning. We found 2 small puddles of water in a corner, but contribute those leaks to children playing with windows and not the quality of the tent. We will be using it again in a few weeks. I would absolutely recommend it and purchase it again.
