Bought this and a Swiss Mora for comparison as both were ...within $1 in price and less then $15 each. Both had plastic sheaths that are of a belt clip on type, fine for the money. However the Cold Steel was heavier built, more solid, and sharper. I like the blade geometry of the Cold Steel better as well. This Canadian Belt knife also has a stainless steel blade, but the Mora was carbon steel. I often prefer carbon steel blades for ease of sharpening, however there are many types of carbon steel. While no expert, the carbon steel blade used in the Mora started to stain and rust immediately after use, much faster then any other carbon steel blade I have ever used. I mean within a few hours. The Cold Steel blade being stainless of course was not plagued with such a problem. So far no need to sharpen as I have been using it in the kitchen to butcher meat and cut up vegetables. If this knife had full tang construction I would give it 5 stars but it also would likely be much more expensive. 4 1/2 stars is how I really feel about this knife, tough to find a better value for under $15. I gave the first one I bought to a friend who was admiring it and bought another one immediately. The second knife was of same quality as the first and virtually identical to the first. While this is of insufficient sample size to state that the quality control from knife to knife is flawless, it is consistent with the high quality control I have found with the Cold Steel knives I have purchased in the past. I think this is the 10th Cold Steel I have purchased and I hope to purchase more in the future.

This style of blade is one of the best kept s...ecrets in the knife world. This is a do-it-all design that is as handy as can be. Light and easy to carry, you forget it's even on your belt. The original design is very pricey, but not this model. At this price, get several and give one to your wife next time you go camping with the family. She won't be giving it back! The blade design cuts all out of proportion to size and it has a useful point. The offset angle of the blade makes it great for food prep and keeps your knuckles out of your work. A great skinner and also big enough to quarter deer and hogs. Mine came sharp and just a touch-up got it hair shaving sharp. I think some folks don't even give it a look because it is very different from what they like or are used to, Their loss, because it is so handy. It's definitely got one of the most comfortable handles for a working knife around. Whenever I see another guy with one, which is rare, I figure he knows his stuff!

This knife just feels good in the Hand. Co...mes very Sharp. Still fairly new so I dont know how long it will hold an edge, but I used a Strop to give it a Razor Edge after using it a few days. Handle is Cheap, but Sturdy. I cant complain for 12.00 ! I gave it 4 Stars due to the Sheath. If it came with a leather Sheath, it would get 5. Go get you one of these.
