These clubs will improve anyone's game!
At age 74, I needed more consistancy than my long irons provided. From previous experience, I knew that Callaway clubs, across the board, were solid. The FT-iZ #3 hybrid is easy to hit from any lie and I get 180 yards from it. The club has a slight draw bias but I can still fade it with ease. I liked this club so much that I bought a FT-iZ #2 hybrid with the same results and 10 more yards. I switch them out depending on course layout or wind conditions. FYI, I use a R shaft, my h/c is 10 and I alternate between senior and member tees.
Callaway FT-iZ 21 Degree 3 Hybrid
Prior to buying the hybrid I purchased an FT-iZ driver which I happily hit straight and long. Although the head on the driver is a bit odd at first glance, the club has great balance and is good for the eye at address. I decided to get the hybrid which has a traditional look and the results are excellent-shots go a long way and when they hit the green they land softly. As a 13 handicap I obviously don't always hit the green but I am able to work the ball with relative ease and shot dispersion is minimal. I have not hit any sand shots yet but I am sure the results will be very satisfactory because the club is stable through impact. It does not twist as some hybrids have a tendency to do in less than well trimmed grass. The shaft seems fine and you can certainly go after the ball as hard as you please and be confident that the shaft won't be the reason for a less than desired result. The only negative is the sock headcover which is cheesy considering the cost of the club. I think that Callaway should do better in that category. Just this evening I purchased a FT-iZ 3 Fairway Wood and I look forward to adding that to my bag. If you decide to get an FT-iZ hybrid I think that you will not be disappointed. Good luck.Read full review
Got the club for great price but not to my eye appeal.
Use the Driver in this version with good results so tried the 3 wood. Head seemed very large for fairway use so never felt comfortable. Nothing bad about the club, just personal prefence.
Callaway FT-IZ Hybrid clubs are down the middle
Callaway continues to lead the pack! Their clubs are by far the most player friendly clubs on the market today. I have played Nike, Ping, and Taylor Made, while all are good clubs, they just can not match Callaway for distance and accuracy. I can now reach even the longest par 5's in 2 shots. I have the FT-IZ, driver, 3 wood, 5 wood, 3 Hybrid, and the 4 Hybrid. Love them all.
hybrid #2 & #3
i replaced my R 7 fairway woods with these hybrids. the first time i hit the 2 hybrid, i was 220 yards from the green and the ball carried to the back of the green. i am 68 years old and i was blown away with the distance i hit the club. long, low and straight. combined with my 2.0 taylormade irons,i am back to a single digit handicap and all my golfing buddies want strokes
