My usual interest lies in leather bound antique books, biographies and historical fiction but I try to branch out and I often get to read some interesting books when I do...but the reason I bought 'The Burglar Who Thought He Was Bogart' was a totally off the wall and, I am afraid, a stereotypically female reason. I have a very large and unique Russian Blue cat named Bogart. The book was a mystery novel that was a quick and pleasant read, a lot along the lines of the Mrs Pollifax mysteries with a little, no a lot, of Mickey Spillane for good measure. I actually enjoyed this book even though it took me only one day to read it. It made me laugh and gave my mental muscles a different kind of workout...the idea of coming out with a leading character who is a burglar and, strangely, a pretty decent guy, I found very provoking...I am sure I will try more of the Lawrence Block books because of it.Read full review
I just like Lawrence Block
