Oldie but goodie
This vintage of MacBook was widely sold in BestBuy stores back in the day and I wanted one back then. Now, thanks to a wonderful Ebay seller I was able to get a good used one with a 2.0 MhZ dual core processor and 2 G RAM that works perfectly and I love it. Apple of course has better graphics mostly and is not plagued with the virus problems and endless updating that go along with Windows. So, since it has Lion I am looking forward to using it for at least a year or even longer. Can you say that about a PC laptop from 2007? Usually, no.

Fear not going used and going cheap on an adequate Mac laptop. Risk is low.
There are several determining factors to consider before buying a used, eight year-old Mac laptop. First is chipset and memory. Intel chips will run the latest operating systems and software. Two GB of memory will do the heavy lifting. Size of hard drive is another - 80 gb is adequate for my needs but doesn't allow much headroom for expansion. The third is condition - this Mac hardly seemed used and the DVD drive had never had a region designated, meaning little use. But the most important factor is up to the end user - to what use will this computer be put? I bought it to sync to a projector for presentations. It's small, light, has USB and Firewire inputs plus a mini-DV output. My presentations are all stored on external drives so the 80 gb HD is not a problem. I am not relying on this Mac as my main laptop - I have three others, all later with more applications. Price of thus unit is right - $80 plus shipping for an excellent Mac is a reasonable investment. It did not come with a power supply, but I have some left over from dead Macs. In fact, external drives are so cheap, size of the drive in a laptop is no longer much of a limitation. I can also clone any of my other laptops for use on this one. By the way: I install Coconut battery monitor on all my laptops and run Diskwarrior before using to optimize directories and solve other issues. With an Intel Mac, don’t fear going used and going cheap. Condition, capacity and end use are what counts. Read full review

its a good machine for the money very reliable.
I purchased this to use for personal use as I was in school at the time. the machine performs well, I must recommend a memory and hard drive upgrade if you intend on doing any serious work on these machines. Also for the age you might want to consider purchasing a new battery but overall it was fairly decent. No major complaints, apple always tends to build good quality into their products. Except for the fact it's no longer supported with anymore. The most current Mac OS it will run is 10.6.8 which is quickly going out. (Final thoughts) it will serve any first time computer buyer or High School student very well.

Awesome product! Great value for the money!
I love imacs. I will be very honest about them though. I have been using an imac for 7 years and it was such an awesome computer. The hard drive did fail though. I felt I needed to buy a used Macbook to get me through until I repair the hard drive on my imac. My wife has been using a Macbook for about 4 years. So I bought a used Macbook and installed Ram up to 4 Gbs and it works and is recognized by the computer. I bring that up because Ive read it can only go up to 3 Gbs of ram. I love Ebay to order a new battery for the Macbook and Ram memory. Heres a helpful note to anyone with an older Macbook. If the battery says (Not Charging) even though its plugged in. Try moving the magnet plug side ways and off and on until it works. Things do get worn down with all computers, But Apple computers are the best. I love them. Read full review
