This is an incredible lens. I've always dreamed of being able to take photos that actually resemble the same image I'm looking at through my eyes, even when it's night out. Taking a picture of a lit-up restaurant sign in the dark, I had to set the aperture to 2.5 because 1.8 made it too bright. I am so happy I bought this lens. The images it produces are sharp and can be quite vibrant even on my Sony A57. I suppose the focus ring could be a bit bigger, but that is really only a minor complaint when I think of what this baby is capable of. It makes for some awesome video quality as well, which is the main reason why I wanted it. It will definitely be on my camera the most out of the lenses I have.
The camera has multiple components to choose from for full utility of the camera. It is very light, takes really crisp outside photos, terrific panoramas and easy snap and shoot. I have used the movie feature, but haven't downloaded it to see how it came out. My only criticism is with lens. I would like to see other lenses fit on the camera like my Canon.

There's nothing bad about this lens. Pictures are sharp. Mainly due to the fact the anti-shake technology is in the camera, not in the lens like the competitors are doing which helps keep cost down. Whether you have an old Minolta or an old alpha series Sony camera you can't go wrong.

This is a nice little single-purpose lens for the "classic" natural angle of view that we tend to focus on things with. I selected "no" to is it durable as it is all plastic and doesn't feel as solid as say a Sony 70-400, but that is to be expected. It is very lightweight and is a fantastic walkaround lens if you want to focus on the "normal" view. You won't find a sharp f/1.8 lens at any better of a deal than this lens, used or new.

For the price, this lens is excellent. I bought mine second hand and it arrived in near mint condition. The body is plastic but still durable and makes the lens very light. The glass takes great photos and the f1.8 aperture is quick. I've also found the SAM on this lens is quick as well. For comparison, I own a 24mm Zeiss and while this lens is not as good as the Zeiss, the difference isn't that great and the Zeiss is a lot more expensive. All up, it's a great lens that gives you a lot for the money, that I love to shoot with and don't plan on selling.
