It is a great tripod. I use it for my needs, just hardly can stable the camera on one of its angles. I am not sure if it is my tripods problem or all other are the same. I hope it will not turn to a serious problem.

I am very pleasantly surprised at how well this tripod is made, given the price. The legs are robust and easy to adjust, the tilt column is easy to use. I did have to push really hard on the button the first time but after that it worked flawlessly. The head operates reasonably smooth and fluidly. Very easy to adjust. It came with a second quick release plate, and some tools. I can't speak to the longevity of this product as I have only had it a week or so, but it does seem to be much sturdier that most of the units I looked at in this price range. Many of the parts that are typically plastic on cheaper units are metal on this one. Overall, I think this tripod is an outstanding value.
a little longer than i expected when it is totally closed, but other than that it is perfect. the adjustable tripod neck and head is awesome. a little on the heavier side, not something i look forward to taking hiking, but very stable. holds a canon 6d and sigma 2x teleconverter with a 50-500 lens on it no problem. the bag is well made, and the snap locks are much better than twist locks in my opinion. I've had a few tripods with twist locks and they always end up breaking early.

I consider the Vanguard Alta Pro professional level equipment, solid and well engineered, my only concern is it is a tad heavy, but then again it isn't made of carbon fiber! I look forward to traveling to West Africa in a couple of months, with my sturdy tripod, replete with features that make it a bargain for it's price.
