This review is specifically for the fan made blu-ray set of the Star Wars Original Trilogy Despecialized Edition by Harmyfilm.
This is the best quality version of the original, unaltered trilogy you can get until the powers that be finally decide to release it officially. Pulling seamlessly from various sources, and with professionally done digital manipulation, Harmy has restored these films in high-definition to their original glory as they appeared in theaters a long time ago. The visual effects, color palette, editing and even sound mix were meticulously and lovingly returned to what they were meant to be.
Of course these versions are available online for download, but the fan made Blu-Rays offered here are nicely made with pretty cool disc & cover art. The extra features are actually nothing special or rare, but nice to browse through after the movie.
As soon as you see and hear these versions, you will be transported back in time and have a wonderfully nostalgic viewing. I love this set - and until an official, unaltered, theatrical edition is released in HD, I will never watch any other version of the original trilogy but this one.Read full review
For any true Star Wars fan having the opportunity to have the original unaltered 1977, 1980 & 1983 version of the Holy Trilogy is a no brainer! This set features Harmy's Despecialised Editions. He painstakingly restored from various elements of home video releases and put together a beautiful set of bluray discs. I've only watched in full Episode IV but I am digging what I have seen and quickly glancing over Empire & Jedi I am very thrilled to have this best offering of the middle series as first filmed!

If want Blu-ray quality with 5.1 Dolby surround sound of the original trilogy Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi THIS IS IT!!! You see Han shoots Greedo first! Until Lucas releases the original trilogy this is the best out there!
Obviously one must be a Star Wars fan to enjoy the trilogy. Blue ray on a large screen puts the show in my home. Add the right sound bar system and you have your own theater to enjoy the movies. Popcorn optional.
This is the way these films were meant to be watched, not the mustache on the Mona Lisa “special editions” with their tacky CGI and ham-fisted alterations, but rather the beloved theatrical releases that are timeless. This is how Star Wars is meant to be seen. I can not recommend these highly enough!
