This monopod is light weight though I use it with a Nikon D7000 and Nikon 300mm f4 and 80-200mm f2.8. Both are beefy with a Gitzo magnisium ball head. This monopod was bought used on Ebay yet it is like new and about 75% of retail. Gitzo has excellent engineering and this monopod works great for all kinds of photographic applications. You only think you are holding your camera still at 440mm (DX equivilant) at 100 yards. On this monopod I still keep the shutter speed above 1/100 of a second when ever possible with fabulous results-what a quality difference and you will be very pleased. My old monopod had a loose head and joints. This Gitzo is solid throughout.
A tiny monopod that's great for travel. Note that the last leg section is extremely thin and seems like it could snap off at any moment!
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned
The only drawback to this monopod is the compromise you make between folded length and extended length. Folded, it's just right for traveling even with a head attached. In use, I'm 5'6" and it's a bit short even for me with a nice ball head attached. Otherwise, it's perfect in all ways. Love this brand. So, figure out if the tradeoff I outlined is what you want/need.
