As a Hoya filter, I expected the product to perform well. It barely adds any weight, and the slim profile helps a little to minimize the size of the setup. As this is not one of the more sophisticated filters, I did not expect extraordinary results, but certainly for the price and size, this filter is excellent for casual use or the everyday amateur.

For the price, it can't be beat. And while some photographers prefer not to use UV filters, this one offers good protection for my ultra wide angle lenses from salt spray on the beach, dust in windy conditions, and mist in light drizzles without any loss of sharpness and little or no flare.

My main reason in purchasing this Hoya UV 72mm filter is protection for my 18-200 DSLR lens. Secondly, to eliminate the haze in outdoor shots due to UV light. I currently have Hoya filters for other lenses and they've been reliable and does the job very well. All in all, I'm pretty satisfied with the filter and I am recommending it.
