This machine is fairly easy to use. Threading it isn't too complicated. Releasing your fabric is a little tricky; I recommend watching a couple YouTube videos and you'll get the hang of it in no time. There is no back stitch so you'll want to learn the various techniques to secure your thread tail. I didn't have the money for a really high end machine, so I had to choose between this Brother or the Janome 900 CPX. The reviews said the Janome skips stitches and the Brother is tricky to sew in the round (i.e. Neck/arm holes). I went with the Brother because I'd rather learn a tricky technique than unstitch an entire garment. The Brother also has 3 needles instead of 2, but the Janome has more sewing space in the neck of the machine. I'm happy with my choice, it's a better machine than I thought I'd get at this price point. I put a lot of mileage on my machines and this one hasn't let me down yet. Read full review

A friend recommended this machine, so I bought it. It is not a good machine. It is cheaply made. It does not hold its tension. It is a great disappointment for now I cannot purchase a different cover stitch machine. I have a brother sewing machine that I really like to use. I thought since it is a brother, it would be a good machine. I would not buy it again.

For the price this little machine is amazing. It works great, is easy to understand and use. If you don't "get it" from the directions - watch a youtube video. You'll say "oohh, I get it now". I used this machine at my daughter's house and had to have one. With this and a serger you can make almost anything and your project will look great. And it has options and adjustments that don't usually come on a machine at this price level.

I have a Brother serger and wanted to get a machine that had the cover stitch capability. Several friends suggested that I get an additional machine rather than upgrade to a serger with cover stitch ability. Most said the converting a serger to the cover stitch was difficult and it would be easier to have two machines. I purchased the Brother 2340CV machine and could not be happier. I have my Brother serger next to my Brother cover stitch and both work very well. The cover stitch machine is a bit more difficult to learn. Removing the fabric seems to be an issue, but once you learn how to do it correctly, it is quite easy. I was able to master the technique in just a few tries. The are blogs that can help. The directions that come with the machine are not as helpful as they could be. I bought a machine that included six feet for an additional $100.00. I have not used them yet, but I look forward to experimenting with them. Again, the directions are somewhat lacking, but I will go to bloggers for support.Read full review
Love this coverherm machine. I briefly owned a different (more high end) brand of coverstitch machine and this machine sews circles around it! My Brother 2340CV easily sews hems on slinky stretch jersey without stabilizers or other aids. Just press with an iron, spay a bit of starch and sew, easy peazy!

This machine will make hemming and sewing knits a breeze. Easy to thread too. This is not a serger so don't be confused. Shipping was fast and product came just as described. Thank you I would order again from this company and recommend this product..
