I love this sewing machine. It's quiet, easy to use, the needle threader WORKS and is easy to understand the instructions for using it. I previously used a Singer with automatic threader and could never make it work. I have already used this Janome machine on heavy weight denim and it sailed through it easily. I am looking forward to using this machine a lot more in the future!

I haven't had the machine that long and used it only twice so far. Found the Auto threader very hard to use. You need to turn off the machine to use Auto threader. This means there is not lighting to be had to aim the small threader needle through the eye. I had to get a flashlight to be able to see. If you turn on the machine for light, it shifts the threader and as a result bent the alignment of the threader. I don't see benefits of having this Auto threader. The reason I purchased a machine with an auto threader was specifically to use this function. Otherwise, it's easy to use.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this machine! So many features but not overwhelming. Love the stop and start feature, haven't used the pedal (it's still in its packaging!) and the ease of use w/this awesome machine is wonderful! It's a powerhouse, goes seamlessly through several layers of thick fabric (so far I've only used flannel) I was looking through several different brands (singer, brother) for my new machine and finally decided on Janome, these machines are known to get great machines that last long and get the work done. So far I can't say anything bad about this machine. It may cost a little more than a few machines out there with more bells and whistles but you are buying quality versus quantity. I trust the Janome name over others cheaper w/more stitches. Awesome machine for any level of sewing.
I bought three if these sewing machines for each of my daughters. They are so happy with their Janome 8077...it is very user friendly and has a well illustrated manual with clear instructions. The price was very reasonable considering all the features this model has; one-step button hole maker, 30 stitches, automatic needle threader and more! I'm so happy I did my research and made the decision to buy this model.
This is a very nice machine, it is very easy to use. I especially like the fact that you can sew without using the foot pedal, and I love the speed control. If there was one negative thing about this, it would be the working area in the throat area, needs to be larger. Compared to other sewing machines that I have owned and used, this one is by far the best ever.
