This product is perfect for listening to music and watching videos. If you're a music fanatic as I am, it is highly necessary to buy 80gb worth of space. The only problems that I find with this product is that it is very easy to hit the back or forward button rather than actually clicking on the song you want to hear. Also, I wish the battery life lasted longer, but then again I do use the crap out of it. As long as you have a charger handy, you will be fine. Should last the whole day without. Great picture and just right size of screen. And the games you can get for it is a plus. As opposed to the Ipod I find the Zune is much simpler to organize and choose your music. Also, the buttons are easier to work. The only downside is the amount of merchandise available for the zune. You usually have to order specifically for the zune for holders, cases, speaker players, and chargers. The ipod, however, does have many added components to choose from in just about every store.Read full review
Overall, I LOVE my Zune. I decided to purchase it because of its great features. The picture and the sound are excellent and it is easy to operate. It is thin, fitting easily into a pocket, yet has a nice large screen for viewing. Like some other MP3 companies, you can subscribe to Zune for a monthly fee and download as much music as you want (although there are some songs that have to be purchased prior to use). There is a very extensive musical library. You can also purchase music videos. The only negative comment I have is that I had to purchase separate software to convert movies so that they would be compatible with the Zune. This software also allows me to convert any of the DVDs that I have at home so that I can take them with me.
I bought this item because of its memory size. It is very easy to use, and its operation is very straight-forward. The memory capacity is astounding. I have recorded seven movies and over 50 CD albums and have not yet used even 10% of its capacity. However, I must say that there is not an organized user manual, and the instructions provided in their site are on occasions confusing, if at all available. I found it very difficult to find clear instructions for several of its functions. I managed to make do by toying around with the equipment by trial and error. Still, I have not been able to appreciate the multiple features it has for lack of good instructions. A real pitty!
I owned a 1st generation Zune for nearly a year until one of my sisters friends jacked it. I spend alot of time on the road so I need my tunes to make it a little bit more bearable. So i finally bought a new 80GB zune to replace my 30GB. Having owned the original, i had something to compare with. The look: The new 80GB Zune looks much nicer than the old version. Its thinner and has a smooth silver back side with a black front much like the old Zune. The screen is said to be slightly bigger than the older version but there is o noticeable difference in my eyes. Of course like all fancy MP3 players it will scratch up simply by breathing on it. So i put a protective screen layer on and slid it into a leather zune case(total cost, $15). The functionality: This version has a scroll feature, which is cool to have but certainly not necessary. Podcasts actually work now and it supports a few games that suffer from horrible load times. It came with a space shooter that took like 2 minutes to load to the point where I could play it. So games suck on it, aside from checkers. The zune software itself is still a bit wonky but its goten better. The screen is actually great for video. I can watch a sub titled anime i downloaded and actually be able to read the subtitles! And the picture fetcher is always nice to have for me since I lack a picture phone to show off amusing images. All n' all, if your not to wild about ipods and you’ve got a butt load of music, like me. The 2nd gene Zune is worth a shot.Read full review
Being used, I was expecting some issues. I mean, I havent had the best luck with mp3 players, and after a 3 year struggle with my 30gb ipod, I needed something different. This is different in a very good way. The screen is beautiful, and sizable considering its the same size as my old ipod. It holds 80gb which is more than enough for a semi-aficionado of music, because my is half filled. It runs smoothly, it plays all my different media types, with an internal conversion (unlike with apple and itunes where you HAVE to convert everything to mp3 or mov). The zune program on my computer is breathtaking and I love the playback function. There are a couple cons though. The one major con is that it can be frustrating if you haven't updated your Windows OS, because often the computer would not recognize the player. The other con is that its just a little bit heavier than the ipod. Its well worth the price I paid for it, though, and I hope to have it for a while.Read full review
