Lightweight Stand with an Old-school Look Gigging out just got a whole lot easier with the DW 6700UL Ultralight boom cymbal stand. This stand has the light weight you're looking for and a great retro look you didn't even know you needed. The DW 6700UL's light-gauge steel tubing and low-mass joints are engineered to provide stable placement without weighing down your hardware bag. A flat base and minimal look keep this stand from cluttering your stage decor—a feature which vintage kit enthusiasts are sure to appreciate. Sweetwater drummers were quick to note DW's Glide Tilter in the DW 6700UL, which positions the boom arm at any angle for unhindered playability despite the Ultralight's reduced footprint.
OK, it's super SUPER light weight, and THAT'S the purpose of everything here. If you're looking for something really sturdy, rock solid, heavy metal stuff and things like that, THIS ONE IS NOT FOR YOU. It won't take your 24" heavy rock ride for you to bash on it for all night long. This DW UL stand is for that gigging guy that carries your own material up and down to everyday's show, or tu use at home as a second and fixed set of hardware. It's for that small and packable drumset you have, for blues, jazz, pop, country and even rock styles (depending on the drummer). Sure it's not a 100% impecable. I would say the L-arm could be a little longer, otherwise it won't matter if you buy the straight or the boom one. Overall it is a great product from DW and I really recommend IF YOU'RE the kind of drummer I've mentioned.
Product will be perfect when rubber feet spikes are installed
I gave it 4 stars because the rubber feet
Need spikes so that it doesn’t move while
Riding more than glad to give it 5 stars if
The rubber feet had spikes to avoid moving while riding patterns are being played
C’mon man!
I wanted a lightweight stand as my hardware case was topping 70 lbs. I was using 4 Tama roadpro stands, each about 9 lbs. Now I’ve cut down from that to 3 lbs per stand. Recently played a show and these stands didn’t move or wobble, even when power crashing my 19” crash. They are well designed and sturdy. I did look at the Tama, Gibraltar and Yamaha stands at guitar center and the DW’s were the best fit for me, quality and price wise.
