As a software developer whose been over 20 years in the IT field, this is not just the best tablet I've ever gotten my hands on, but it's the best portable Windows PC I've ever owned. Granted, I've only owned it for 3 weeks and can't vouch for longevity, but this is what I know so far: 1. Incredibly thin, like an iPad-thin. In fact, because of this and other features, it rendered my iPad obsolete (see 3 and 4) 2. Powerful for business needs - If you're looking for something to play games, there are much better alternatives at this price range. It's great for business though - it never ceases to amaze me when I compile code with it with MSAccess, Excel and VB.net. 3. It has legacy GPS. I'm not talking about Cellphone-tower assisted GPS, I'm talking about traditional GPS where you don't need an internet connection, just make sure you have the proper maps downloaded into the Windows 10 Maps app. In short, this thing can be one gigantic GPS screen that doesn't rely on a monthly service. 4. Battery life - comparable to an iPad, except you're running a full operating system. 5. Traditional Wacom pen - For those of you who are late to the game in terms of Digital pens (you've only used them since the Surface Pro), digital pens used to never need batteries, and their accuracy was incredible with few downsides. Most pens now are battery powered NTrigs that have poor accuracy and on top of that, a much higher replacement price tag with nothing to offer in exchange. 6. Type C charger means you can get a replacement power cord for about $10. 7. Very high quality display. You can immediately tell @ bootup when the Samsung logo comes up - blacks are true blacks, not backlit. Cons 1. This is a Niché market device. In fact, I've seen the consumer version being sold more expensive than the business model (consumer version is Windows Home, Business version is Pro, plus I believe it has a slightly better screen), so even the retailers don't know what they're selling. 2. Only 2 USB-C ports, one of which is taken up for power input. On the plus side, I've noticed the second port puts out some decent level of current as it charges my iPhone 8 quicker than normal.
