"This CPU is fantastic", just keep in mind that it's a 220W CPU, which means you'll need to have a motherboard that's capable of running a 220W CPU (most aren't), and because it's 220W it runs very hot, so you'll also need a liquid CPU cooler, air coolers just don't do it (trust me I've tried)... You'll also need at least a 900W Power supply, but with those three things this thing "ROCKS!!!"

This is a great processor but you will have to get a liquid cooling system in order to keep it cool. When installed with an entry level CPU cooler it was running at 70-78C! I will be upgrading the cooling system to a liquid one so that the CPU doesn't burn out. This processor is a great value, but you will have to spend a bit more time and money finding an efficient cooling system for it.

the AMD FX-9590 is the perfect complement to an AM3+ board that will evunteally be replaced by the new M.2 boards. If you going to stick with your AM3+ board for a while the FX-9590 is the perfect choice to upgrade to. My Cpu performes flawlessly under water-cooled conditions and I have no regrets. Along with my twin GTX680's it allows me to play BF4 with ultra settings getting around 150fps. I love it and will always buy AMD.

It is a great cpu, if you manage to handle the very high core speed - high temperature. Try disabling the turbo core technology in the BIOS or with AMD Overdrive, if you are not using a liquid cooling solution. It is now working just fine at 4700 Mhz, 31 celsius idle, and it could go way up to 57 celsius while gaming. My rig has very good ventilation, keep it in mind.
