I was thinking about taking out my radio to upgrade to a navigation system, it was pretty expensive, and complicated. I have a Iphone that already has navigation, and amazon music w/ bluetooth. I tried it out in my 2011 Ford F-250 truck, through the SYNC system, it worked great. I could play music as well as the already installed goggle map on the phone. I just needed to now mount my phone. Most required drilling or such to the dashboard, I didn't want that. This was a perfect solution, and works great. If you want to play a CD, it removes within seconds. What a GREAT idea, do not hesitate to buy this holder.....works for me.

First off let me say this the concept is cool. However putting this into your CD slot and tightening it down so it stays secure is problematic. The pressure it puts on the CD deck can break your faceplate you can see It stressing and flexing whenever you go over a bump etc. I have not had my faceplate break yet. But personally it is a poor designed phone holder. Also if you have any type of protective case this will not hold it securely. I have a unicorn beetle case for my S8+ this will not hold it, the arms are to short and so is the pull down arm that holds the bottom of the phone. Without a case it works okay but the lower arm interferes with the plug in jacks on my phone and the microphone. Just not a good fit for my Kenwood deck or my phone.

Installed in seconds and not hard to remove. Easy enough to use, though I had to tighten it several times the first week. It's a little awkward to reach behind for the release button, but not bad. I trust it to hold onto the phone securely, and it doesn't bounce much while driving. It's well built for the price - not quite as convenient as my dash-mount iOttie (which fell off when summer heat melted the adhesive!), but this is a great value. I'll probably go back to my regular mount in the cooler months, though. Fits my large phone with its case, no problem.
