Doesn’t Skim UNLESS you use the Flow Restrictor and have a Sand Filter
When I first installed this I didn't use the flow restrictor on the second suction port on the pool because I have a sand filter and I thought that flow restrictor was for the standard paper cartridge pumps which are next to worthless to begin with. I hooked it up to my sand filter and it didn't really skim well at all because it wasn't pulling the blue floater down enough to take in water. Boy what a difference putting in the flow restrictor made! Now it works very well and the blue floater is right at the surface of the water skimming water into it. You need a sand filter for this product to work (and you will also be much happier with your pool with a sand filter) You need to use the Flow Restrictor on the second suction port.

The support arm does not hold the skimmer level on inflated edge of our Easy Set pool. The skimmer floats up. So some water flows through the skimmer basket and some bypasses around it. It helps get some stuff off the surface, but it misses a lot, too. It’s well built but not so well designed for this pool.

Very durable, good quality, not cheap plastic
This Intex pool skimmer is way better than I thought it would be. I read mixed reviews and prayed for the best. It's great!!! It has so much more power than I expected and pulls all the top water right to it. It have very few to no debris in it after a couple of days without checking it (like if it's been raining or I'm on a work stretch and forget about it.) I'm super impressed with this product and so glad I made the investment :)

Looks like a well made product. It should come with every connection possible so you wouldn't have to order and pay more for your type of connection needed. Had to order the top board hook...an extra $10-11 for part and shipping. Won't use it till the spring...will see then how it works.

Intex pool the good and the bad
Great pool but pump is worthless replacing filters every 3 to 5 days so $140 for sand pump plus adapters now works great plus just added a skimmer plus portable rechargeable vacuum now it works awesome dont even use chemicals now just some chlorine tablets in floating duck. So i think it should come with the sand pump and save people money on chemicals and filters.

Staying clean!
There’s nothing like having a pool skimmer! Just put the return jet so it can create a clockwise or counterclockwise circulation and the slimmer will take of the rest. Everything that falls in and floats for a few minutes they’ll be skimmed. I bought a leaf rake when I got chemicals at the pool store and I haven’t even used it because the skimmer is so good. Totally recommend it you’re going to enjoy a clean pool every time you go outside.

Seems to do a good job of collecting floating gnats & June bugs. I will probably get some of the finer filter bags as some finer particles did get passed the basket & collected on the strainer at the outlet end of the hose.

Pool is much cleaner on a regular basis than without
It was a little pricey, IMO, but it works well. It's hard to keep a small pool clean, but it's much easier now that I have the skimmer. Tiny bugs still get through the holes and into my cartridge, so I want to try the skimmer socks to filter better.

Handles high flow rates
This skimmer is a great upgrade to the smaller versions, if you upgrade to a high flow pump, this unit will handle the additional flow, where the older smaller unit has to be modified or will be overwhelmed. It is larger than it looks in the ads, has some design changes over the earlier units that are great improvements. Overall, an excellent skimmer.
