I've had this product installed for 3 weeks or so now and it is working well. This part is a common issues for the 5.4 L motor of the mid-2000s Fords and when I initially replaced it I used an aftermarket part which did not last long. The seller replaced it and that set lasted quite some time but failed this past April when we were on vacation. I purchased a set from a local auto parts store and installed them in the parking lot and we were off and running. 2-3 weeks later, however, these started acting up so I finally wised up and purchased the Ford ones. So far, so good!! If you need to replace these just pony up the money for the Ford brand ones if you can. And install them yourself. It's a really easy job and there are instructional videos on YouTube about how to do it.

In 2007 Ford changed the valve covers whereby you can no longer access the vct without removing the valve covers to replace them. A 6 hour job for me. The passenger side is much harder to access. On the bright side, seeing the gunk buildup in the valve covers from the previous owners neglect I am going to flush my engine now just prior to oil changes and do them at 2000 mile intervals for a year hopefully cleaning out other areas.
