I've been using the HP Laserjet 2055 printer at work for years and the 2035 printer is every bit as durable and reliable. If you want professional looking documents you can't do any better than this printer. This model does not have an ethernet port built in but you can easily connect it to a Jetdirect print server for network functionality using a parallel cable. That's how I have mine setup. Or you can use a standard USB cable and plug it directly into your computer. You can enable printer sharing if you need to allow others to use it on the network. The quality of the print is second to none and in almost 8 years of using this and/or the 2055 model I have never ever experienced a paper jam. I've printed thousands and thousands of pages with no problems. Personally I've never been a fan of color/ink printers so if you're someone who insists on color printing then obviously this printer isn't for you. But if you prefer clean, polished, professional looking documents every time then there is no comparison. This is one of the best printers you can buy. Read full review

The printer was dead on arrival and I didn't want to go through the hassle of having to repack it a send it back so I looked up common issues with this printer and luckily many other people reported the issue I was having which was on boot, the top two icon were locked in a solid yellow alert status that wouldn't clear. The solution was to remove the cover, remove the circuit board and bake the board in the oven for 5 minutes at 350 degrees. That worked but it was a lot of work to have to do for a printer that was listed as working and in good condition. FYI, the reason you bake a circuit board is the solder on circuit boards can dry and crack over time. Baked is a temporary fix to resolder the circuits. I would not have purchased this printer had I known how old it was. Finally, I believe the printer was working when you tested it but it was too fragile and old to hold together during shipping.Read full review

It is compact and relatively fast and it meets my needs as a writer who sometimes needs a print copy of portions of my manuscripts. What I do not like about it is that it has taken a week to get it to accept a signal from my Samsung, and it does not accept a signal from my husband's Toshiba. This means that we have to transfer his workproduct to my Samsung laptop to get a hard copy of his product. While this may be a problem with the laptops, I find it unusual that we had to hassle with the Samsung as well in order to get it to work. We have two other printers, both HP color printers, in use and we have no problem with them, using the same hardware and connections. We made the decision to buy this item when our older HP B&W laser printer died. Overall, although it was eight years old and finding the toner cartridges was getting very difficult, it was superior to any of the three newer ones--faster, capable of high yield copying, and easy to service. Unfortunately, the comparable printer is not available at a decent price. We thought we were getting something in the same class, and did not. But we did get a functional printer adequate to meet our current needs at a price we could afford to pay.Read full review
Very easy install. I plugged it in, connected the USB and began printing documents. It is a lot faster than I realized. Print quality is excellent, although I have just printed text documents and nothing graphically oriented. I bought this printer to print only manuscripts and from what I read of other reviews, this unit is a workhorse.

Purchased this printer for medium duty use in my home office. Printer is easy to set up (less than 3 minutes). No problems experienced. Features fast first print with good overall BW output. Good for basic needs. Meets my needs printing around 5K per month. Will not meet needs if need copying or duplex printing, scanning, faxing etc!
This is my second HP2035. The firrst one lasted ten years, so I'm hoping for that again. Toner is expensive but it does well if you shake out your cartridges. As a small business owner, this is my primary printer. I have a secondary unit for copying, scanning, and fax.

This printer is a workhorse. I have 3 of them for my house and 1 at work. Never any problems. Kids use it at my house for their papers for college so we use the copiers a lot. Always good.

This is not a home printer for occasional use. This printer is designed for everyday business use. I got a real bargain.

F0lds sheet edges, required significant cleaning and new cartridge, old cartridge was for all practical purposes empty. Lots of small paper bits in back of printer. Cleaned best I could and will keep it, but certainly6 doesn't live up to my expectations.
