The plot is 7 fictitious gods, mainly dinosaurs, two primates (Blizzard and Chaos) and Vertigo battle it out for world domination. Each character has quick, medium, slow, combo and fatality moves. In Arcade and 32x versions the game has a final decisive battle where you fight all foes one by one. Game has tons of replay value since it's got both single player and 2 player. This game is a great side scrolling 2d fighting game that is tons of fun. I'd have to advise against the 32x version for those who don't own 32x hardware. It's not worth it to by a 32x addon since very few games were even released for it. The 32x version of Primal Rage only adds a gore on/off switch, better background, and decisive final battle. Hardly worth the extra cash. Plus 32x will most likely become a collectors item along with many other failed and successful consoles. Some reason collectors like failed consoles the most sometimes. The Genesis port seems like the best value since the prices are cheap, has gore and Chaos' inappropriate fatality. The CD based version seem to have good graphics too. But again there is no sense in getting a rare console just to play Primal Rage.Read full review
