I really like this watch. Very stylish and I'm glad that I bought the blue color. I would recommend getting a different band just because the stock band allows too much movement (could be i'm in-between sizing on the band though). Got a nice leather band to go with it. The first 2 months I had the watch it averaged about -1.4 seconds/day (checked with WatchCheck). I've been pretty rough with it with trips, work, fishing (getting wet) and biking to work. It's currently doing about +30 seconds/day. I didn't want a huge watch and this fit the bill.

i wanted an inexpensive seiko that was waterproof and had a natural fiber band. the "canvas" band turned out to be nylon and was the same as the nylon offerings i had purposely avoided bidding on. the watch is hardly water proof as stated in the manual. i returned the watch. it has an attractive face and would have been good for a non water person. i ended up buying a watch that has a screw down crown to get a truely waterproof watch.

Previously I gave it the rating of one star and wrote the review at the end. After visiting a watchmaker I changed it to 5 stars. Here's why: I went to an experienced watchmaker who measured how accurate watch is using a fancy device. I wanted to ask his opinion about the watch and check if it needed cleaning. He said the following (paraphrasing): There are some people that sit at the desk most of the time or maybe are couch potatoes. They expect that somehow this watch will magically wind itself. This watch needs movement. He advised 30 min vigorous walk (with wife or a dog, if one has one :-)). Alternatively he advised for me (in my case) about 1-2 minute vigorous movement of my forearm with the watch FIRMLY in my hand before I go to bed. His advice worked. The watch works really well. PS. I work at a desk all day so his diagnosis was correct. PS. My previous review was here (and now is INVALID because this was a watch user error :-)) "I worn this watch during the day. I took off at night (when I was sleeping). The watch Seiko Men's Seiko 5 Automatic Blue Canvas Strap Watch SNK807 that I bought from ebay, would stop working 2-3 hours later. It was a disaster. One thing I really like about it is the stem being offset so it does not dig into the back of my hand. That and the smaller but adequate size makes it very comfortable to wear. Seems to keep better time than my Rolex, but of course not as impressive. It's not a dress watch, however would be perfect for a student or very active life style where beating up a more expensive watch can be avoided. The band is a good one that will last longer than leather and it has a wide range of adjustment from medium to small wrist. I don't think it would be good for a very large wrist.

A person can't wear a Swiss diver's chronograph every day; every few years it needs to be sent in to the Rolex techs for cleaning and lubrication. A drawer full of back-up "fashion" watches is only as good as all the dead batteries in them and only serves as a reminder as to why one wears an automatic watch to begin with. The Seiko is the next best thing after a Swiss timepiece and the Seiko 5 is legendary for it's five criteria; water, dust and shock resistance, day/date bar, and automatic winding. Add to all that atozworldllc's price @ less than one-third of the MSRP and it's a great deal on a great watch in anyone's book.

I recently purchased a Seiko SE-SNK807 Men's Navy Blue Silver Water Resistant Automatic Wristwatch. It is a fantastic watch. The quality is superb, The see-through case allows me to see the self-winding movement. It looks really good. It is my favorite watch to wear during the day. My favorite nighttime watch is a Timex waterproof Expedition watch with Velcro strap and Indiglo night light. My new Seiko watch has not been damaged when I wear it in my swimming pool.
