The OS is the only thing holding me back from giving it 5 stars. It was a headache setting it up. It said to downloaded the app to set up. I missed the part saying I could skip that way of setup because “skip” changed languages before I saw it. The app didn’t set up the Xbox so I did it on the console itself. I had to repeat a couple steps not because I got it wrong, it just eventually asked for the same info again. The OS looks clean enough but still has a dated feel. Very flat. Boxy. Uninspired font. Controller is neck and neck with my PS5 controller. I far prefer the PS5’s dual sense features; the adaptive triggers, the extra center button. But the Xbox controllers trigger texture feels better, as does the clickiness of the d-pad. Asymmetrical joysticks were NO issue. Physical design of console is beautiful. It’s the size of a mini box of cereal - about as lightweight too! Silent. That huge fan vent is silent. And of course game pass. I worry it’s creating a downfall in the gaming world; renting. Do the game companies make enough money? To put out better and better games? I hope. Read full review

Anyone on the fence about purchasing the Xbox Series S should get off and buy this system. I say this if you are an Xbox One S owner or similar older system. Also if you don't want or have the need for physical game disks or to watch movies on your system than buy the Series S. Keep in mind that you will need to purchase the optional 1 terabyte storage expansion unit at some point. All in all I think this System is well worth the money as opposed to the much larger and more expensive Series X. Get the game pass account and you'll be set. In my opinion.

Amazing console for the price I paid! Even at full price it’s a steal, pair this with a 220-300 1440p freesynch 144 hz monitor and your set. Absolutely can’t recommend this enough, get game pass and even with all of that I added your still coming below the price of a PS5 or Series X and not even 1 game or extra controller. If you are on the fence also keep in mind this is slightly smaller than a Nike shoebox at about half the depth.

It’s good. Controller is comfortable but has a few design flaws. Right triggers eventually get sticky due to faulty felt pads.... however this is a easy fix. The controller still uses disposable batteries and feel this makes it feel less next gen.
