This is a great vacuum. I had a shark for many years and after it fell apart I decided to give the Dyson a go. I have a 90+ lb bulldog that is a 100 pound hairball. Sheds like I've never seen. Was amazed at how much the Dyson pulled out of the carpet. Glides along and maneuvers quite easily and the self adjusting from hardwood to carpet is very nice. I deducted a point for the hose attachment it is not really that great. It sucks actually, come on Dyson you can do better

I am overall satisfied with this vacuum. Good suction. Lots and lots of plastic parts. I hope they will hold up to weekly use. It does a good job of picking up pet hair. It does collect fur on the roller so I have to clean that off weekly. The description said self propelled, but it is not. I have a very thick pile carpet and it is a little tough pushing it over that carpet. It is a bit lighter weight than my previous vacuum so that helps. It doesn't have a very large capacity canister for hair and dust. Have found that I have to empty it half way through my vacuuming routine. I would recommend this vacuum just because of the suction.

I love the suction of the dyson animal. It works great on cat hair. My only complaint is the handle. I have 2 that I can't use because of the broken handle. I think it's a design flaw.
